There are 26 at-large candidates running for 5 seats in Thunder Bay. Having trouble deciding?

Four candidates running for re-election have been sitting on council for a collective 57 years between them. It’s time for a change.

We’ve seen an unfortunate trend in Thunder Bay when it comes to elections. People often vote based on name recognition, regardless of what those councillors have actually done during their terms. In the past decade, we’ve seen residential taxes rise, while industrial taxes dropped, making day-to-day living more difficult for hard working families. We’ve seen increasing violence along with decreasing trust in our police force, making our community more dangerous for everyone. We’ve seen racism intensifying, making our community an unhealthy place to live, particularly for young people. We’ve been making international headlines for all the wrong reasons.

If we focus our votes,  and elect 7 brand new candidates to council, they will represent a majority of votes and can make the changes we need to move in the right direction.
